Is Rush Limbaugh, the well known radio talk show host of the pro-conservative right and the King and Queen maker of the Republican party, getting a little soft? You know him, the one with the personality of a sidewalk, barking out criticisms about the Democrats like he was a mangy junk yard dog that hasn't eaten anything in many days. But, with past and present events you might have to reevaluate his true political position.

We already know that he was receiving cigar boxes full of back pain pills from his housekeeper without a prescription like a common junkie. In the 60's and 70's the conservatives and even Rush, wanted all those drug taking liberal hippies to be put in jail. This seems to be hypocritical, but maybe, what Limbaugh says and what he really is, might not be what he appears to be. Could he regret he never had a chance to go the famous Woodstock concert and is hoping that they organize a similar one soon, so he could attend and openly express his long hidden liberalism? You might have considered this a ridiculous statement a short time ago but who could have predicted what had happened so recently, which is summarized in the next paragraph.

Now, there is more evidence that his conservatism is starting to show cracks. Pertaining to the story about the evolution of one his wedding arrangements. Staying in a Hotel in Hawaii, earlier this year, Limbaugh became aware that Elton John was staying in the room directly above him. He and his fiance, became excited that the homosexual entertainer was so close by, because they both loved him so much. In a attempt to get the attention of the gay singer, out on the balcony of their room, Rush was liberally singing some of Elton's songs, out loud, hoping he would hear him. John did, and knowing the proclaimed social conservative, would be against just about everything he stood for personally, he still sent him a note. Which asked him how he was doing because he was receiving medical treatment and trying to put forth an effort of building a bridge between the two supposed opposites. It worked out very well. So well, that Rush Limbaugh, like a spend maniac liberal Democrat, paid Elton John $1 million to appear at his wedding for just a one hour musical performance.

Many times, this conservative advocate strongly complains about Republicans who do not stand far enough to the right. He labels them closet Democrats or liberals, but look who keeps turning to the Left, 'Mr. Limbaugh' himself. Who knows? as a boy, Rush, might have been a very average child without any strong views about anything, yet wasn't receiving much attention. When he started to talk about disgust, anger, hatred and began blaming all the ills of the country on the liberals, socialist, Communist, etc. he realized that people started to listen. Who could blame him for continuing this routine, it ended up making him a fortune. Getting older and financially secure could he be tired of covering up his true inner self. If you see Rush with one hand holding Elton's hand and his other hand holding a sign with a like image of the elephant on the right side of this article, representing the new compassionate conservative GOP movement that he would have just started. Leading in a Gay Liberation Parade in a major city of the USA. It might mean that the not so conservative any more, celebrity, might of had a big change of heart. Or, the Blowhard Host was running America's biggest political opinion message scam since day one, for profit ?

Ok First off- Rush was a DJ in the 70's, spinning records (including Elton), and loved his music BEFORE Elton came out. Second, Rush opposes homosexuality (stupidly, in my opinion), but he doesn't oppose individual gay people. Third, he differentiates between the act and the person doing it. Fourth, if his new wife wants it, SHE GETS IT. Fifth, if you have it, and want to spend it, that is your right. The problem with democrats is (like Republicans) if THEY want it, they know WE have it, so THEY take it and spend it.

Bad1V- he is referring to tax time, NOT playtime. But a nice comeback.

PLEASE NOTE: I am a listener to Rush, but NOT a ditto-head. At most, I agree with him about 35% of the time. The rest of the time, he is too right wing for me.

Hey, at least Rush used his own money.

This gratuitous little number could easily have been titled, "Is Elton John a closet conservative 'Capitalist' ?". Never the less, bored much, Bad1 ?

This is a prefect example of someone without a sense of humor. Lighten up this is a humor seed.

If I had said what I really think of him, I would have said he is an idiot.

I do so love it when people set themselves apart from xenophobic, jingoistic, bigots by rushing to hide behind the semi-opaqueness of claiming to be a reasonable xenophobic, jingoistic, bigot.

Elton John is one of the most generous people out there. I don't know if he did or didn't take a million for singing at Rush's wedding , but be sure he probably gave it to a charity .... like the AIDS foundation.

and funny about Rushs' first job spinning records.. he got it after not being able to serve in the military for a boil on his ass. and gets a job sitting.......?

No, Gedde, I support the following positions he has.

Governmental fiscal responsibility (he wants a balanced budget)

He opposes the HCR law that just passed

    He opposes the welfare state

    He is pro-gun

He is for individuals being allowed to keep what they earn.

Now, for what he is for that I oppose.

Defense of Marriage act- It is stupid, homophobic, and a violation of civil rights AND Constitutional rights

Don't Ask Don't Tell- see above, squared

Supports the USA Patriots Act- a direct violation of the Constitution

Supports the Department of Homeland Security (A Nazi sounding department name if ever I heard one)- Another complete violation of the American way of life

Supports keeping our borders closed and keeping immigration controlled. I am for open borders, and simply denying new immigrants access to ANY governmental financial help programs for at least 5 years

Supports the War on Terror- I oppose it, and think the best way to fight terrorism would be an armed and aware populace

Supports the War on Drugs- legalize them, and you eliminate the financial strength of the gangs that control drugs, you reduce the number of prisons, guards, cops, and courts this country needs (HUGE monetary savings)

Advocates the continuing criminalization of prostitution- stupid and impossible to truly enforce, and since the women OWN their bodies, they can ret them out if they want. Legalizing it would virtually eliminate the sex slavery business

Supports the idea of enforcing "Christian" ideals with laws- illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral

Now, THAT is why I support about 35% of his stances. BTW- I DO have 2 black dogs. But that is irrelevant. I don't look at the color of skin. I look at the content of a soul. Rush would be a blast to debate, because MOST of his stances are only backed up with "Because I said so" whaere I have specific reasons for each of my stances. Hell, I even wrote an article about it.

Read it if you want. You might learn something about what a true Libertarian thinks and feels. And more important, WHY he feels that way. But hey, never let a few facts get in the way of a knee-jerk reaction to someone.

Anyone that knows me may well have seen me say many times that I believe Rush Limbaugh is playing a part.

I have very, very strong feelings that he is not a conservative, and that he's playing a character for ratings. He hinted at that himself.

My tipoff, originally? Operation Chaos. His cover story about wanting to mess up dems' plans was silly, IMO. He wanted Hillary to win, period. He's even praised her lately.

My comment at 1.6 on this seed shows I've definitely mentioned my suspicions.

He wants Obama to have to run in a primary as well as an election. No secret there. But anything good he has said about Hillary is far outweighed by the bad he says about her. BUT he did say that after seeing the damage Obama is doing to America, he DOES think she'd be a better Pres than O.

Bonos I wish I could beleive you. I really really do. But after listening to that guy rant against Democrats, progressives, and liberals he must be playing one hell of a part. And why not channel all of his inflammatory remarks and persuasive propoganda skills to suit the Democratic Party? I mean why pretend to be an inflammatory conservative (when your secretly not), when you could live happier playing a inflammatory liberal? xD

Just because his radio persona is a calculatedly flamboyant rightwinger who bears a striking resemblance to an over-the-top Hollywood parody of a conservative doesn't mean Limbaugh is not similarly right-of-center when he's not on the air.

Besides, if this has been nothing but an act for the last twenty years, Rush had better hope all those dittoheads never find out it's an act. They'd do things to him that would make Dr Mengele blush.
